Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Delhi Capitals by 47 runs in their Indian
Premier League (IPL) match on Tuesday. Abhishek Sharma, invited to bat, blazed away to an unbeaten 35 off 68 balls to steer SRH to a mammoth 242 for 2. SRH has now surged into the top three of the IPL 2026 points table after a commanding 47-run win over DC in Match 31.
Abhishek Sharma hit 10 boundaries and as many maximums, anchoring the innings from the start to the end. He found able support from Travis Head (37) and Heinrich Klaasen (37 not out) which led to SRH's win.
Delhi-Hyderabad IPL match
Abhishek Sharma smashed an unbeaten 135 off 68 balls in a dominant win over Delhi Capitals. Heinrich Klaasen also continued his remarkable run in IPL 2026, reaching a major milestone during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s dominant batting display against Delhi Capitals. Klaasen became the third-fastest batter to 100 sixes in IPL history, getting there in just 52 innings.
While Abhishek Sharma deserves the appreciation, SRH bowler Harsh Dubey also managed to produce a stunning performance against Delhi Capitals. He bowled just two overs and picked up three wickets while giving away just 12 runs.
“And I know Harsh Dubey, whenever I get him, he’s capable of bowling those good balls. He’s a very smart bowler. And I just spoke to him and I said you will be bowling the most crucial overs. But the plan was to get your best bowlers when needed, when the two best batters of the team are batting. And I think that worked pretty well for us,” SRH stand-in captain Ishan Kishan said.
The SRH vs DC chase slipped out of reach as Sri Lanka’s Eshan Malinga (4/32 in 4 overs) and Sakib Hussain (1/29 in 4 overs) triggered a dramatic middle-order collapse. Delhi Capitals crashed to 107 for 4 after cruising at 107 for 1, and never recovered thereafter. In the end, Axar Patel’s side could only muster 195 for 9, going down comprehensively as Sunrisers Hyderabad climbed to third on the points table.
Brief score:Sunrisers Hyderabad: 242 for 2 in 20 overs (Abhishek Sharma 135 not out, Heinrich Klaasen 37 not out, Travis Head 37; Axar Patel 1/23)
Delhi Capitals: 195 for 9 in 20 overs (Nitish Rana 57, Sameer Rizvi 41; Eshan Malinga 4/32 ).
