Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru are making a strong statement off the field as they take on Delhi Capitals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2026. As part of their long-standing sustainability drive, RCB are once again wearing their iconic green jerseys.

RCB’s ‘Go Green’ Initiative Explained
RCB launched their "Go Green" initiative in 2011 to promote environmental awareness and encourage a cleaner planet. Under this annual tradition, the team replaces their classic red kit with a green jersey for one home match each season.

The jerseys, made entirely from recycled materials, represent more than just a symbolic gesture, they reflect the franchise’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. RCB’s first appearance in the green kit came against Kochi Tuskers Kerala on May 8, 2011, a match they won convincingly by nine wickets.

Memorable Matches in Green Jersey
One of the most iconic games in the green kit came in 2016 against Gujarat Lions, when Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers both scored centuries in the same innings, helping RCB register a record 144-run victory.

In IPL 2021, the team temporarily switched to a blue jersey instead of green as a tribute to frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
