IPL 2023: The 'Pani Puri' way to become Rinku Singh in 3 simple steps

As KKR's Rinku Singh continues his good run in this season's IPL, the organizing body of the premier tournament has released a fun-themed video on "3 simple steps to become Rinku Singh." In the 1.5 minute video shared by IPL on Twitter, Rinku Singh is seen mentioning the three steps.

The first step, Rinku Sharma says, is to become a good friend of skipper Nitish Rana....sending Rana Good Morning message on WhatsApp, ordering food, including Phuchka or Pani Puri, for his captain. The next two steps are on a serious note: practice hard and performance.

When it comes to the performance on the field, Rinku Singh was again on the spotlight on Friday despite his side KKR losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Chasing Sunrisers Hyderabad's mammoth score of 227, KKR overcame a weak start to keep the match on balance until the final overs. KKR captain Nitish Rana's fighting captain's knock (75 off 41) and Rinku Singh's unbeaten fifty (58 not out) were not enough as KKR lost the match by 23 runs.


Earlier, Harry Brooks Sunrisers Hyderabad (100 not out off 55), Aiden Markram (50 off 26) helped their team put up a mammoth score against KKR.


Rinku Sharma was thrust into the spotlight during this season's IPL after he hit five consecutive sixes in the last over which helped his side pull off a victory against Gujarat Titans. "It is the best innings of my life. It never crossed my mind that I would hit five sixes in five balls. If you have belief, things can happen.," Rinku Singh told news agency ANI.

He also said that he received a video call from actor Shahrukh Khan, the owner of the KKR franchise, after the win. Rinku said his ambition is to play for India. But right now, "my focus is on IPL. I want to do good for my team and hope we win the final," said Rinku.
