IPL 2023: Rishabh Pant is required in Delhi Capitals dugout even if he is not playing, says Ricky Ponting

One of the most promising hitters in Indian cricket, Rishabh Pant was seriously injured in a vehicle accident in December. The severity of the injuries required surgery for the wicket-keeper batsman. The scenario precludes him from playing in the whole Indian Premier League, and maybe for the rest of the year. However, Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting wants the wicket-keeper batter to be near him for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 even if he is not playing.

Ricky Ponting, a former Australian captain, has expressed his appreciation for Rishabh Pant, who is now recovering from a horrible vehicle accident on December 30. While playing for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League, the two developed a great bond (IPL).



Ponting confirmed that the Delhi Capitals are in the market for a successor but he also noted that players like Pant "don't grow on trees".
