IPL 2023 Points Table: SRH jump two places after win against KKR, check updated standings

People saw fireworks in the 19th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. SRH batsman Harry Brooks scored the first century of this IPL edition propelling the orange team to the season-high of 228 runs.

Brooks smashed a quick century in just 55 balls crushing the confidence of the Kolkata Knight Riders on their home ground. From the very first ball, Brooks made his intentions clear and went on to achieve the milestone.

The Kolkata Knight Riders who entered the Eden Garden brimming with confidence did not expect to fight against such a big target.


Nitish Rana’s squad faced ups and downs in their innings but fell short of 23 runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad won their second match of the tournament.

With the win against KKR, Sunrisers Hyderabad jumped two positions in the IPL points standings and is now in 7th position with four points. After losing the match, Kolkata Knight Riders stands in 4th position with 4 points.

Rajasthan Royals still leads the table with 6 points and the second is Lucknow Super Giants with 6 points. The reigning champions Gujarat Titans are placed in the third position.

KKR lose against SRH by 23 runs


KKR had a rough start in the second innings as the squad lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz for a duck while chasing the huge target of 229 runs. After Venkatesh Iyer also lost his wicket to Macro Jansen, KKR decided to gamble and sent Sinul Narine early in the game.

However, this also did not go well for the squad as Jansen trapped Narine for a golden duck.
While KKR fans were losing hope, Nitish Rana tried to bring the game under his control by smashing 28 runs in a single over.

SRH bounced back and Jagdeshan fell against the bowling attack. Nitish Rana tried to keep KKR in the game and scored 75 (41) but lost his wicket to Natrajan.

Fans wished to witness Rinku Singh’s heroics but in the end, it was too much to achieve in the last overs.
