IPL 2023: List of IPL's Most Celebrated Purple Cap Winners From 2008 to 2022

The 16th season OF Indian Premier League's (IPL) will commence Today on March 31 with the opening game in Ahmedabad featuring defending champion Gujarat Titans and four-time title holder Chennai Super Kings.


The tournament would kick off with a grand opening ceremony featuring Arijit Singh, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Rashmika Mandana. The tournament will consist of 12 venues and a home-and-away schedule.


The bowler who takes the most wickets during the season is awarded the Purple Cap, a coveted honor. In the history of the IPL, West Indies T20 legend Dwayne Bravo and Indian seam-bowler Bhubaneshwar Kumar have both won the Purple Cap twice during their IPL careers, making them the record holders for the most Purple Caps won.



In the 2022 IPL season, Yuzvendra Chahal of Rajasthan Royals won the Purple Cap by scalping 27 wickets, with his best figures being 5 for 40 against Kolkata Knight Riders in a high-scoring match. He led his team to a seven-run victory.
