iPhone saves Ukrainian soldier from bullet? See this viral video

An iPhone may have saved an Ukrainian soldier from a Russian bullet, according to a video now going viral on social media.

The video, first shared on Reddit, purportedly showed the soldier pulling out from his backpack an iPhone with a hole to suggest where a bullet went in.

What the video suggested was that iPhone 11 stopped a bullet from the enemy which could have killed or badly wounded the Ukrainian soldier. The phone still looked remarkably intact - though with an indentation in the rear case where the bullet entered, and a shattered screen in front.

"Maybe it's after such videos that Russians, instead of plate carriers, put Macbooks in their bulletproof vests?" commented the user who first posted it on Reddit. Soon it was shared on other platforms as well.

People commented on how lucky the soldier was, while others couldn't resist a lighter take on the incident.

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away," one user commented. "Put the phone back, it might stop another bullet," suggested another. Others remarked it was remarkable the lithium battery did not implode in the impact and heat of the bullet.

The video has not been confirmed by any official sources. It reminded many viewers of a similar video in mid-April from the Ukraine war where a soldier pulled out a mobile phone with a bullet wedged in it.
