iPhone 18 Pro: India price, launch timeline, key features and major upgrades

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to launch in September, but buyers in India may have to pay more for the new models. Apple has not yet confirmed the prices, but several leaks suggest that the handsets could see a price hike of Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000, depending on the model and storage configuration.

The iPhone 18 Pro is reportedly expected to start at around Rs 1,39,900 in India, compared with the Rs 1,34,900 starting price of the iPhone 17 Pro. Another estimate puts the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro at Rs 1,44,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could start at around Rs 1,54,900, according to several media reports.

Why iPhone 18 Pro could cost more

One reason behind the expected price increase could be the rising cost of memory components. Growing demand for AI infrastructure has put pressure on memory supply and prices. Apple has already raised prices for some products in India, including the iPad Air and MacBook Air, although it remains unclear whether similar changes will apply to the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.

iPhone 18 Pro series expected upgrades

The potential price hike could come alongside several hardware upgrades. The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to feature Apple’s A20 Pro chipset, reportedly built using TSMC’s 2nm process. The Pro models could also get 12GB of RAM, brighter LTPO+ displays and a smaller Dynamic Island.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to pack a larger battery, while camera upgrades could include a variable-aperture 48-megapixel primary sensor and a stacked sensor. Apple is also reportedly working on its C2 modem and expanded satellite connectivity for the new generation.
