Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at its annual September launch event alongside its first foldable iPhone. While the company has not confirmed any details, leaks and industry reports suggest the upcoming Pro models will feature battery, camera and performance upgrades while largely retaining the existing design.

According to Mark Gurman, Apple could hold its annual keynote on September 8 or September 9, 2026, with September 9 considered the more likely date, reported by India Today. Retail availability and the first deliveries are expected to begin on September 18.

Reports also suggest Apple may split its iPhone launch this year, with the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and the next iPhone Air reportedly arriving in early 2027, leaving the September event focused on the Pro models and Apple's first foldable iPhone.

Apple is widely expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro lineup during its traditional September event. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the keynote could take place on September 8 or September 9, with September 9 emerging as the stronger possibility. If the timeline remains unchanged, sales and deliveries are expected to begin on September 18.

Reports indicate the company may separate the launches of its Pro and non-Pro models this year, with only the iPhone 18 Pro series and the foldable iPhone expected at the September event.

iPhone 18 Pro expected India price

The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to carry a higher price due to increased manufacturing costs linked to the 2nm chipset, upgraded cameras, larger batteries and more expensive memory.

According to reports, Apple could raise the India prices of the Pro models by around Rs 5,000. If that happens, the iPhone 18 Pro may start at around Rs 1,39,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could begin at approximately Rs 1,54,900.

iPhone 18 Pro camera upgrades

Apple is expected to retain its triple 48-megapixel rear camera system while upgrading several internal components.

Reports suggest the primary camera could gain a variable-aperture lens to improve depth-of-field control and low-light photography. The company is also tipped to introduce a brighter telephoto camera, a new stacked image sensor and a 24-megapixel front camera across most of the lineup.

The Camera Control button may also be redesigned to rely entirely on pressure-sensitive controls.

iPhone 18 Pro design, thickness and expected colour options

The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain Apple's flat-edged design and triple rear camera layout. However, leaks suggest the rear panel could feature a more seamless finish, reducing the two-tone appearance seen on current models.

The camera module is tipped to become slightly larger, while the phones may be thicker to accommodate bigger batteries and an upgraded vapour chamber cooling system.

The Pro lineup is also expected to debut in a new Dark Cherry colour, alongside Light Blue, Silver and Dark Grey.

Apple is expected to continue with a 6.3-inch display on the iPhone 18 Pro and a 6.9-inch display on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Several reports suggest the company may shrink the Dynamic Island by placing some Face ID components beneath the display. While some tipsters believe under-display Face ID could arrive this year, others expect only a smaller cut-out. The Pro models are also tipped to feature more power-efficient LTPO+ OLED displays.

The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to be powered by Apple's A20 Pro processor built on TSMC's 2nm process.

The chipset is expected to deliver faster overall performance, smoother gaming, improved battery efficiency and significantly enhanced on-device artificial intelligence capabilities.

The larger batteries are also expected to make the phones slightly thicker, with the Pro Max reportedly weighing around 240 grams.

The Pro models are expected to feature Apple's next-generation C2 modem for faster connectivity and improved power efficiency.

Reports also indicate expanded satellite connectivity, extending beyond the emergency messaging features currently available on iPhones.
