Instagram stunt gone wrong: Viral video lands 3 Gurugram youths behind bars

In their quest to boost their Instagram followers, three young men from Gurugram found themselves in a tight spot. They embarked on an escapade that involved filming a car stunt video on the bustling Golf Course Road, leading to significant traffic disruption. However, their attempt to gain online fame took an unexpected turn as the video quickly went viral on Instagram, catching the attention of the Gurugram police and resulting in their subsequent arrest.

The video showcased a red Swift car skillfully navigating in reverse on Golf Course Road, followed by three other vehicles, all choreographed to the beat of a Haryanvi song playing in the background. Instead of amassing the followers they had hoped for, the viral video led the men straight to the local police station. The police not only arrested the trio but also impounded the three cars used in the stunt.

Assistant Police Commissioner Kapil Ahlawat disclosed that the Swift car used for the stunt had been modified, with its colour changed from white to red. He stated, "The individuals in the vehicles were observed driving recklessly at high speeds on Golf Course Road on October 23, all while creating this viral reel that showcased their daring car manoeuvres."


This incident is not an isolated case in Gurugram, a city that has witnessed similar reckless stunts on its roads. Several other videos, including instances of fireworks being set off on vehicle rooftops in Gurugram, have gained notoriety recently, prompting police action. Ahlawat appealed to the youth to refrain from engaging in such activities, emphasising that it's not only dangerous for them but also endangers the safety of others.
