Inside Jaipur City Palace Teej celebrations
Hariyali Teej was celebrated on August 15 and 16 in 2026. On August 16, Jaipur- and London-based content creator Devisha Kumari Singh shared glimpses of the celebrations at City Palace on Instagram.Her video showed women dressed in traditional leheriya attire taking part in the festivities. The celebrations included dancing, singing folk songs, applying mehendi and offering prayers to Teej Mata.
The vibrant setting, colourful outfits and traditional customs offered a glimpse into how Teej is observed within the Jaipur royal household.
Gauravi Kumari performs Teej Mata rituals
The celebrations also featured Gauravi Kumari, daughter of Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Princess Diya Kumari.Gauravi Kumari was seen offering garlands and praying to Teej Mata as part of the traditional festivities. Women participating in the celebrations were seen wearing colourful leheriya garments and glass bangles, reflecting the traditional aesthetic associated with Teej celebrations in Rajasthan.
Padmanabh Singh takes part in historic Teej procession
Padmanabh Singh, the 28-year-old head of the Jaipur royal family, also shared footage of the city's traditional Teej procession on Instagram.The annual procession of Teej Mata began at City Palace and proceeded towards Tripolia Gate. Padmanabh Singh performed the traditional aarti of Teej Mata along with members of his entourage.
The procession brought together Jaipur's royal traditions, folk culture and longstanding Teej customs.
Traditional folk artists add colour to Jaipur Teej procession
The procession featured performances by numerous folk artists showcasing Rajasthan's rich cultural heritage.According to Amar Ujala, around 175 folk artists participated in the procession. Performances included Kutchi Ghori, Gair, Kalbelia, Chari-Ghoomar, Chang-Dhap and Manganiyar singing.
Traditional art forms such as Bhapang, Ravanhatta, puppetry and Bahurupiya were also part of the celebrations.
The performances drew crowds along the procession route, adding music, colour and movement to the historic Teej festivities.

The festival commemorates the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.Hariyali Teej is observed on the third day of the Shukla Paksha during the month of Shravan. The festival is associated with the reunion of Shiva and Parvati and the acceptance of Parvati as Shiva's wife.
