Information Bureau recruitment notification for 2022 has been released

Intelligence Bureau's recruitment notification has been published recently. The notification lists 766 vacancies for which IB is looking for suitable candidates. The positions include Assistant Central Intelligence Officer, cook, caretaker, Junior Intelligence Officer, and Security Assistant. Currently, candidates can apply for posts in Group B and Group C.

Candidates who get shortlisted on the recruitment drive would be posted on deputation. Only offline applications are being entertained. Interested candidates can get further details about the positions and the eligibility requirements on the website www.mha.gov.in.

The Government published the notification for IB recruitments in a circular available at https://www.mha.gov.in/sites/default/files/VACANCYCIRCULARIB_04072022.pdf. Currently, eligible candidates include those belonging to the Defence Forces, State Police Organizations or Central Police Organizations. Other eligibility parameters are mentioned in the MHA circular.


On the recruitment drive, the Intelligence Bureau stated that candidates who have completed a cooling-off period of 3 years since their last deputation would be eligible. Moreover, the candidates should not have been deputed more than once. Such qualified candidates can submit their application forms and relevant documents to the Assistant Director at the IB Office in New Delhi.

• Release date of the notification – 22nd June 2022
• Last date of making an application – 60 days from the date of release of the notification

The total number of vacancies in different posts is as follows –

• For the post of ACIO I and ACIO II (Exe) - 70 and 350 respectively
• For the post of JIO I and JIO II (Exe) - 50 and 100 respectively
• For the post of JIO I and JIO II (MT) - 20 and 35 respectively
• For the post of JIO II (Tech) - 7
• For the post of SA Exe and MT - 100 and 20 respectively
• For the post of a caretaker - 5For the post of a cook - 9
