We deeply regret the inconvenience caused due to the unforeseen flight delay, IndiGo said in response to the tweets.
A man took to Twitter to highlight the issue of delay of the IndiGo flight his wife was travelling. The incident took place on a flight from Dehradun to Lucknow to Chennai. After the flight landed in Lucknow the pilot refused to take off for Chennai, citing exhaustion, Sameer Mohan tweeted, sharing screenshots of WhatsApp conversation with his wife.

And later the plane had to be diverted to Delhi, from where it proceeded to Chennai, according messages posted on social media.

"Dear@IndiGo6E, my wife's on a flight that has been delayed for 3+ hours now and is now been going to Delhi," Sameer Mohan said in his first tweet, sharing screenshots of WhatsApp conversation with his wife.

"Captain is exhausted it seems," his wife said, according to the WhatsApp screenshots he had shared on Twitter.

Later, IndiGo responded to his tweet. "Mr Mohan, we deeply regret the inconvenience caused due to the unforeseen flight delay. Your understanding and cooperation are truly appreciated. Rest assured, we're actively working to get the passengers to their destination at the earliest," the airline said.

In subsequent tweets, Sameer Mohan informed that the flight landed in Delhi where the airline will look for pilots.

Another person Ketharinath Kamalanathan shared a video from inside the plane. "Flight's now started for Chennai. What was supposed to be a 4:30 hours flight is now 10+ hours," he said.

Other users expressed concern. "Off late I've been hearing these frequent delays & last minute cancellations of flights quite frequently. The worst part is the aviation rules r skewed in favour of airlines. There should be harsh penalty proportional to mental agony caused by delays/cancellations," Dr Mehul Bhatt tweeted.
