According to reports, five death cases have been reported in Karnataka due to heavy rains.
Indian IT capital Bengaluru has been severely hit by the incessant rains. The highways are inundated, schools and colleges are shut and offices have announced work from home for employees as heavy rain continued to pound Karnataka.

Shocking image of inundated Bengaluru-Mysuru highway have emerged as people took to twitter to highlight the plight of the highway that has been submerged in flooded rain water.

The people also complained to the Union Minister for Highways on twitter. "Nitin Gadkari sir, the drainage is so bad at Ramnagar stretch on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway that the water is logged completely at underpasses and curves. Vehicles are drowning," a twitter user said in a post.


The people's miseries are not likely to get over soon, as Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of continue incessant rain for the next four days in the state. Yellow alert has been sounded for Belagavi, Gadag, Koppal, Haveri, Dharwad, Ballary, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Chikkaballapur, Kolar and Ramnagar districts.

According to reports, five death cases have been reported in Karnataka due to heavy rains. A 56-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman were killed, about 160 sheep and two dozen cattle died and over 4,000 houses flooded as overnight rain wreaked havoc on Monday in several parts of Ramanagara suburb next to Bengaluru.

Bengaluru's bustling Ramanagara region last witnessed such rain in 2004. Several twitter users shared photos and videos of waterlogging after the heavy downpour.
