Indian-origin professional Kaish Ansari shared his father's heartwarming reaction after he was laid off from his UK job, winning praise online for the father's calm and supportive response.

Indian-origin professional Kaish Ansari shared his father's touching response after his UK job loss, with the video winning hearts on social media.

An Indian-origin professional in the UK has shared how his father reacted after he told him about losing his job. Kaish Ansari, who worked as a Data Engineer at JP Morgan in Glasgow, said the experience of being laid off left him worried about his career and future. But instead of reacting with fear, his father offered him a simple message of reassurance.

A father's calm response

Ansari shared a video of himself calling his father after losing his job. He appeared concerned about telling his family the news, but his father's response was far from what he may have expected. "It is Allah's will. And something better might happen in the future."

The brief response struck a chord with viewers, particularly because Ansari's father appeared more concerned about his son's well-being than the setback itself. For someone working abroad, losing a job can bring added uncertainty, including financial concerns and questions about what comes next. Ansari's video focused instead on the support he received from home.

Why Ansari shared the video

Ansari said he did not post the conversation to seek sympathy. He wanted people facing similar difficulties to know that they were not dealing with them alone.

"I'm sharing this video not for sympathy, but to remind anyone going through a difficult phase that you are NOT alone. Your family is always with you, no matter what," he wrote in the caption.

He also described the emotional impact of suddenly losing a job, saying the experience can make even experienced professionals rethink their career and future.

"Getting laid off is painful. No matter how experienced you are or how hard you've worked, suddenly losing your job can make you question yourself, your career, and your future. But sometimes, one conversation with your parents reminds you of what really matters."

Ansari said he decided to make the conversation public because "many people are silently going through the same thing". He listed layoffs, job rejections, unsuccessful interviews, financial pressure and uncertainty about the future among the struggles people may be facing privately.

"If you're one of them, please remember: A layoff is not a reflection of your worth. It's one event in your career, not the end of your career. Don't let one setback make you forget everything you've achieved so far."

"Kaish, you are so blessed to have such an understanding and supportive father. You will soon hear something good," one user wrote. Another viewer highlighted the smile on Ansari's father's face towards the end of the conversation.

"The smile at the end of the conversation on your dad's face had a hidden message: 'Don't worry, son. I'm here for you just like I was when you were young.' Something only fathers have mastered in this world," the user commented.

A third person summed up the reaction in a few words: "Bro, literally your father has a king mentality."
