Indian restaurant in Vietnam accuses Indian family of vandalism, threatening staff over child's behaviour
An Indian restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City has accused a family of Indian tourists of vandalism and threatening staff after a dispute over a child's behavior. The owner stated that polite requests to manage the child's mess were met with aggression,...

The guests were identified as Indian in multiple media reports.
Dispute allegedly began over child's behaviour
According to TOI, citing restaurant owner Aishwarya Khanna Singh, the altercation began after staff politely requested that the guests stop a child accompanying them from throwing tissues around the restaurant.
Singh alleged that the family reacted aggressively, misbehaved with employees and tried to avoid responsibility by claiming to be "influencers."
She said her restaurant had experienced a situation "no restaurant should have to face," alleging that the family became confrontational after being politely asked to stop the child from throwing tissues across the dining area.
"Instead of cooperation, the situation escalated—property was damaged, staff were disrespected, and responsibility was avoided under the claim of being an 'influencer,'"
'Influence does not place anyone above basic manners'
Singh stressed that "influence does not place anyone above basic manners," adding that a restaurant is "not a playground" and its staff are "not targets for anger or entitlement."
She further stated that civic sense means "teaching children accountability, respecting public property, and understanding that rules exist so everyone can enjoy the space safely and comfortably."
While the restaurant welcomes guests "from all backgrounds and cultures," she asserted that "respect is non-negotiable" and that "damage, disorder, and intimidation will never be tolerated."
Concluding her post, Singh wrote:
"Hospitality is our job. Basic decency is everyone's responsibility,"
She also remarked that such customers often "go on Google reviews and say we (restaurant) performed poorly."
Incident follows other controversies involving Indian tourists
According to TOI, the incident comes just days after a video of a group of Indian tourists dancing on the tarmac at an airport in Vietnam went viral, triggering widespread debate on social media.
Days later, another group of Indian tourists faced criticism after performing a dance to a Shah Rukh Khan song at Hanoi's famous Train Street, a popular tourist attraction in the Vietnamese capital.
