A video of a man smoking in front of children and elderly passengers on a moving train led to Railway Police to rush to the railway coach and stop the smoker. Since the video has been posted, it has gained a lot of traction online. A passenger, who shared the video, wrote, "when everyone was stopping him, the passenger started abusing them while lighting cigarettes in front of children and senior citizens. Coach S-5, Seats 39–40, Train No. 14322." He also requested for immediate action to the incident.

As soon as the tweet went viral, the Indian Railways responded and asked the passenger to share the mobile number and trip information (PNR/UTS number) with them via direct message. The fellow passenger was also advised to contact RPF India directly on http://railmadad.indianrailways.gov.in or by calling 139 for prompt resolution.

A short while later, the complainant tweeted that Railway Police Force (RPF) officers had arrived at Rajasthan's Bandikui station. Social media users responded to the event and its swift resolution. While some criticised the accused, others praised the Railways for responding quickly. A user wrote that these passengers needed to be detained for putting both public property and countless lives at danger. While another hailed the power of Digital India and thanked Indian Railways.
