The purported communication, carrying RBE No. 101/2026 and dated October 6, 2026, claims that the Railway Board has sanctioned the bonus and that eligible employees would receive a payment of Rs 41,149.
The Railway Board has rejected the letter as fake and fabricated, saying it was not issued by the board.
Fake letter circulated on social media
According to the Railway Board, the communication came to its notice after being circulated through various social media and messaging platforms. The letter reportedly bears a forged signature of the official whose name appears on the purported communication.The board has made it clear that neither the letter nor its contents are authorised. It has specifically directed Zonal Railways, Production Units and other Railway offices not to act on or take cognisance of the document.
Railway staff bonus claim declared unauthorised
The fake communication claims that eligible non-gazetted Railway employees are entitled to a Productivity Linked Bonus equivalent to 78 days’ wages, with a stated payment of Rs 41,149.The Railway Board said no action should be taken and no payment should be made on the basis of the circulated letter.
All concerned Railway offices have been advised to disregard the document in its entirety and inform officers and staff about the fake communication.
Railway Board urges staff to verify bonus notices
The Railway Board has advised employees and officials to verify the authenticity of any communication concerning PLB payments through the official Ministry of Railways and Railway Board website before taking any action.It has also cautioned that communications received through social media, messaging platforms or other unauthorised sources should not be treated as official instructions or used as a basis for making payments.
