The matchmaking biz is tougher than most realise and most things don't go as planned and that's something Sima Taparia is learning the hard way.
A client from season 1, Aparna Shewakramani, Sima's client from season one had returned to the Indian Matchmaking series for season 2, but she decided to do so on her own terms and has parted ways with Sima Taparia. In an interview, she explained the reason for the drastic decision by stating that Sima and she had a breakup and the reason for it was because their values didn't align.
Their differences caused a significant amount of tension and it was palpable right from the beginning. Sima was having a hard time finding a suitor for Aparna, who was very particular about her life partner and had a long list of prerequisites for her future husband.
Aparna also said that a key aspect of the tensions surrounding her interaction with the matchmaker was her progressive belief system, which makes her view a partnership as an equal between a man and a woman. It was something she felt she didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things, especially as part of the Indian culture.
She has also admitted the fact, many times during the show, especially after she was matched with an unsuitable partner. She has also been vocal about her experiences on the show on other social media sites. She has uploaded many TikTok videos, where she explains her experience on the show and places specific emphasis on the fact that she had a poor experience while working with Sima Taparia.
