The popular Indian ed-tech company PhysicsWallah has been embroiled in a major scandal involving allegations of bribery and internal politics. The company's chemistry teacher, Pankaj Sijairya, has reportedly accused three of his colleagues - Tarun Kumar, Manish Dubey, and Sarvesh Dixit - of taking bribes from rival platform Adda247 to quit PhysicsWallah. The three teachers have since quit the platform, citing differences with founder Alakh Pandey and a belief that PhysicsWallah's original mission of providing good, affordable education had been sidelined as the company grew larger.
Also, each of the three instructors launched a YouTube channel where they gave a justification for leaving PhysicsWallah. They defended themselves against claims that they accepted a bribe of Rs 5 crore in a recent video and stated that PhysicsWallah's culture no longer supported studying or teaching. They also claimed that PhysicsWallah had issued strikes on their YouTube channel, despite the fact that they had already completed the syllabus before leaving the platform.

In a highly emotional video, the former PhysicsWallah teachers broke down, yelled, and got visibly upset as they explained the drama that had unfolded with their former colleagues. The video has since gone viral, garnering 1.9 million views on YouTube within a day. However, the teachers faced criticism on Twitter, with some accusing them of crying for sympathy instead of focusing on their students, and others deeming it inappropriate to air the company's dirty laundry in public.
In 2020, Alakh Pandey established PhysicsWallah with the mission of providing everyone with an affordable and accessible education. The company has since become an ed-tech unicorn and is currently in initial talks to raise at least $250 million - a massive valuation markup for an ed-tech start-up.
