Delhi-NCR weather tomorrow
Delhi is likely to remain dry and sunny on October 5, with no significant rainfall expected. Winds of around 20-22 kmph are likely in the national capital.The dry spell is expected to continue for the next few days, although the IMD has forecast isolated to scattered rainfall over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi from October 6 to 7. Rainfall may continue over Delhi through October 8.
There is currently no warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain or other severe weather in Uttar Pradesh. The IMD has issued no weather warning for east or west Uttar Pradesh from October 5 to 9 in its latest bulletin.
Rain and thunderstorms in several states
While north India is expected to remain largely dry, rainfall activity will continue over several other parts of the country.Kerala is likely to experience thunderstorms, moderate rain and gusty winds during the ongoing spell. Rainfall activity, however, is expected to decrease over the next couple of days.
Odisha may receive isolated to scattered rainfall, with wet conditions expected to continue through October 7.
Bihar and Jharkhand are likely to receive isolated to scattered rain from October 5.
Parts of the Northeast may witness thunderstorms and lightning, with isolated heavy rainfall possible over Arunachal Pradesh. Rainfall activity is expected to continue in the region through October 7.
Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra may also receive isolated to scattered rainfall, with wet conditions likely to continue through October 7.
Northwest India
The latest IMD forecast indicates that rainfall activity will return to parts of northwest India from October 5 to 7.Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive showers during this period. Isolated to scattered rain is also likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on October 6 and 7.
The latest IMD warning bulletin has no warning for Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh from October 3 to 5. Himachal Pradesh, however, has a thunderstorm and lightning warning for October 6 and 7.
South India
Kerala and Mahe are likely to remain under a fairly widespread to widespread rainfall spell through October 7.Isolated heavy rain is possible over Kerala and Mahe from October 5 to 6, while South Interior Karnataka may receive isolated heavy rain on October 5.
The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over parts of southern India. Strong surface winds are likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema on October 5.
Monsoon withdrawal continues
The southwest monsoon remains in its withdrawal phase across the country. The IMD expects further withdrawal from parts of north and central India, while rainfall activity continues over parts of southern, eastern and northeastern India.The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from some parts of Maharashtra, with the IMD saying that 20 of the state's 36 districts have recorded deficient rainfall.
The IMD said the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the remaining parts of north India, the entire Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, and some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.
The line of withdrawal passes through Supaul, Ranchi, Raipur, Brahmapuri, Parbhani, Baramati and Harnai.
Conditions are likely to become favourable for further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from most parts of Marathwada, Vidarbha, Bihar and Jharkhand, some more parts of central Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, and some parts of Telangana and north interior Karnataka during the next 2-3 days, the IMD said.
