India began the Super Eight stage with a loss to South Africa but responded with a comprehensive win over Zimbabwe. The co-hosts made multiple changes to their playing XI in that match, though similar alterations are not anticipated for Sunday’s fixture.
Sanju Samson is expected to open the innings alongside Abhishek Sharma after the pair produced India’s most successful opening partnership of the tournament in the previous match. Ishan Kishan is likely to continue at No. 3 following the effective right-left combination at the top.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav will aim to lead from the front, while Tilak Varma is set to retain his position at No. 5. After struggling at No. 3 earlier in the competition, Tilak adapted well to his revised role, scoring 44 off 16 deliveries in the last outing.
