India vs Bangladesh: When MS Dhoni's skills helped India win 2016 encounter

Will the present Adelaide match yield any such excitement? The winner of this match will have one foot in the semi-finals and both India and Bangladesh will be aware of that.

Team India will be hoping to get back to their winning ways in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022, as they take on Bangladesh on Wednesday in Adelaide.

India have so far played three matches in the World Cup, winning two and losing one against South Africa. Bangladesh have also registered two wins and lost one from their first three matches.

India have a 10-1 record against Bangladesh in T20Is, but they are not taking their neighbours lightly. The last meeting between the two teams in T20 World Cups resulted in a heart-stopping one-run win for India.

This happened in the 2016 edition of the World Cup when captain MS Dhoni's presence of mind helped India scrape through with a one-run victory. In fact, ahead of the Adelaide match on Wednesday many fans relived those moments online.

In that match, Bangladesh needed 2 runs to win off 2 balls in the final over bowled by Hardik Pandya. Mushfiqur Rahim holed out in the deep off the penultimate delivery, and Bangladesh needed 2 runs to win off the last ball.

Dhoni took off his right glove as Hardik Pandya ran in to bowl, the ball was quick outside the off stump and Shuvagata Hom missed it, Mustafizur Rahman dashed in from the bowler's end to try and complete a bye and tie the match, but Dhoni sprinted to the stumps and whipped off the bails to win the match for India.
