India vs Australia T20I series from today: Where to watch and other details

India will today evening take on a well-balanced Australian side in the first T20I of the three-match series

India will take on a well-balanced Australian side in the first T20I of the three-match series at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday.

For India, the selectors have picked almost the same squad for the T20 World Cup in Australia, despite some concerns raised during the poor show at the recent Asia Cup 2022.

The top four - Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav - pick themselves automatically. Allrounder Hardik Pandya is also a sure-shot starter.

The question is who will be the wicket-keeper -- Rishabh Pant, who can also be the left-handed batting option in the top order, or the finisher Dinesh Karthik?

Also it will be interesting whether India will go with Axar Patel, the left arm spinner who can bat a bit; or Deepak Hooda the middle-order batter who can bowl a bit of offspin.

India's bowling attack will be bolstered by the return of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel, both of whom missed the Asia Cup 2022 due to injuries. Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also a sure starter.

The spin options other than Axar are leggie Yuzvendra Chahal and offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

Australia led by Aaron Finch will miss the services of Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis and Mitchell Marsh for the entire three-match T20I series. But they still have a well-balanced squad.

Many members of this Australian squad familiar with the conditions in India due to their IPL experience. Also, Australia have a decent record in India in T20Is.

India and Australia last played a T20I series in December 2020, in which India managed to outplay Australia 2-1. India won the 1st T20I by 11 runs and the 2nd T20I by 6 wickets. Australia won the 3rd T20I by 12 runs
