India vs Australia T20I: ‘I wanted to cry because I didn't execute what I wanted’, said Heather Graham
It took a 20-run super for India to end Australia's unbeaten run across all formats in 2022 following a T20 classic in Mumbai. Australia all-rounder Heather Graham says ‘she wanted to cry’ after conceding 20 runs from India.

With one ball remaining, Smriti Mandhana's four runs tied the game for the hosts, who needed 14 runs off the final over to win off the bowling of seasoned seamer Megan Schutt. In the subsequent super over, Graham was assigned to bowl while India batted first. India scored 20 runs off Graham, the best super over in women's T20I history, as Mandhana scored 13 off three balls, Richa Ghosh six off two, and Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on one.
Then, in response, Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner, and McGrath scored just 16 runs off Renuka Thakur, ending Australia's unbeaten streak in 22 games across all formats in 2022.
Graham said she "definitely" didn't think she'd be bowling a super over in her first game, especially in front of 45,000 spectators after taking 3-22 in the first 20 overs to start with the ball. As a bowler, it wasn't much fun because the wicket kept getting better, the outfield was lightning-quick, and the boundaries were close together.
"I initially believed that (Schutt) had been given the go-ahead to bowl, but (captain Alyssa Healy) turned to me and said, "You're bowling the super over. I've had some experience In the WBBL. Unfortunately, it failed to come off today. To be completely honest, I probably wanted to cry when I left the field because I didn't execute the plan I had in mind. But if I execute on any other day, I believe it will be a totally different game. Heather said, "So sometimes you just have to take it with a pinch of salt and that's just cricket for you.
