India reach Sydney to take on Netherlands; Dinesh Karthik ‘thanks’ Ashwin ‘for saving me’

The Indian team left for Sydney to take on the Netherlands after beating Pakistan in a high-voltage match at Melbourne. The team reached the city of Sydney on Tuesday, and the match will be played at the iconic SCG on Thursday.

Through a video shared by the BCCI, it can be seen that the likes of Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya are deboarding the team bus.




Meanwhile, Ravichandran Aswin was thanked by Dinesh Karthik for saving him, pointing to the fact that if Ashwin had not scored the winning runs, then the ‘Finisher’ Dinesh Karthik would have been slammed on social media for failing to get the job done. Ashwin came to the crease and scored the winning run after Dinesh Karthik got out on in the last over of the innings.

After coming to the crease, Ashwin left the next ball from Mohammad Nawaz, which went for wide, showing an outstanding sense of judgment. Any batsman would have gone to hit the ball in a tense situation like this.

Even Kohli said that Ashwin came to play with an extra layer of brain while praising the spinner for his judgment.

On Sunday, Kohli played an outstand innings to score 82 runs to single-handedly take India to an epic 4-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan on the big stage of the T20 world cup.

After a wobbly start, Pakistan recovered to post a fighting total of 159 for eight.
