India Post GDS result 2026: How to download merit list PDF
Candidates can check the result online through the India Post website.To access the merit list, go to indiapost.gov.in and open the “Shorlisted candidate” section on the side bar of the homepage.
From there, click on state from where you filled your application
A link for “List of Shortlisted Candidates.” will appear
The system will open a PDF file containing the merit list, which applicants can download and keep for future reference.

What information is included in the India Post GDS merit list
The released merit lists contain several important details of the shortlisted candidates. These include:- Division Office
- Post ID
- Post Name
- Post Community
- Registration Number
- Percentage of marks
Candidates can use these details to confirm their selection and identify the division under which they have been shortlisted.
How the selection process works
India Post prepares the GDS selection list using a fully automated merit system. The system calculates merit based on the marks obtained in the Class 10 examination.Because the recruitment required only a Class 10 qualification and offered a large number of vacancies, the drive saw heavy participation from applicants across the country.
India Post GDS Merit List Released: What's next
Candidates who appear in the merit list must now proceed with document verification. They have to report to the Divisional Office of the division where they have been selected.The verification process must be completed on or before March 23, 2026.
Candidates must carry original documents along with two sets of photocopies. These include the Class 10 marksheet, identity proof, caste certificate (if applicable), and residence certificate.
Once the documents are verified, candidates will go through a medical examination, after which the final appointment letter will be issued.
