The BCCI has announced India's squads for the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies, with the three-match ODI series beginning on September 27 and the five-match T20I series starting October 6. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been included in the ODI squad, while Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant miss out.

The men's selection committee, led by chief selector Ajit Agarkar, met in Delhi on September 16 to finalise the teams for the two series. The ODI leg will be followed by the T20Is, with the eight matches spread across venues in India.

With the 2027 ODI World Cup approaching, the ODI selections also offer a look at the players being considered in India's preparations for the tournament. The World Cup is scheduled to be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli return to India ODI squad

Rohit Sharma has retained his place in the ODI squad, with Shubman Gill continuing as captain. Rohit had scored a century in his most recent ODI appearance against England at Lord's. His inclusion comes amid continued uncertainty over his long-term place in India's plans after Gill replaced him as ODI captain in 2025.

Virat Kohli has also been named in the 15-member squad, while Yashasvi Jaiswal returns to the ODI setup. Hardik Pandya has not been included.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been brought into the ODI squad as a top-order option, while Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Auqib Nabi has earned his maiden ODI call-up. Naman Dhir has also received his first call-up to the Indian squad.

Rishabh Pant is another notable absence from the ODI team, with Dhruv Jurel included among the wicketkeeping options.

Shreyas Iyer to lead India in T20Is

The T20I squad has Shreyas Iyer as captain, with Tilak Varma named vice-captain. The five-match series comes immediately after the Asian Games, meaning some first-choice players could be unavailable for the opening matches.
