Independence Day 2025 traffic advisory: Check traffic restrictions in Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad on 15th August

Traffic police in Delhi-NCR have announced movement restrictions for heavy vehicles and road diversions from August 12–15, 2025 to facilitate the Independence Day full-dress rehearsal and the main celebrations.

Independence day 2025 Gurgaon traffic restrictions

No heavy vehicle entry to Delhi:

• From 5 pm on August 12 to 1:30 pm on August 13 (full-dress rehearsal).
• From 5 pm on August 14 to 1:30 pm on August 15 (main event).
• Vehicles travelling to other states/districts advised to use KMP Expressway.
• Park only in designated areas to avoid congestion.

Independence Day 2025 Faridabad traffic restrictions

No heavy vehicle entry towards Delhi:

• From 10 pm on August 12 to 2 pm on August 13.
• From 10 pm on August 14 to 2 pm on August 15.

• Prahladpur
• Karni Singh Shooting Range
• Surajkund Gol Chakkar
• Durga Builder
• Mangar Chowki Naka
• Dera Fatehpur
• Sector 30 Cut
• Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
• Sikri, NH-19 (Palwal Road)
• Elson JCB Chowk

Exempted vehicles: Milk, fruits, vegetables, medicines, medical supplies, fuel, fire services, ambulances, police, and vehicles with special government permissions.

Violators will face action under the Motor Vehicles Act.

Independence Day Ghaziabad traffic restrictions

No heavy vehicle entry towards Delhi via Ghazipur, Anand Vihar, or Ghaziabad borders during the rehearsal and main event hours (matching Delhi restrictions — typically from the evening before until mid-day of the event).

Traffic from Ghaziabad towards Delhi will be diverted via Bhopura Border or alternative peripheral expressways.

Heavy vehicles advised to use Eastern Peripheral Expressway to bypass Delhi.

Independence Day: Noida traffic restrictions

No heavy vehicle entry to Delhi via DND Flyway, Kalindi Kunj, or Chilla Border during rehearsal and event restrictions.

Commercial vehicles to be diverted to Yamuna Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

Light vehicle commuters advised to avoid DND Flyway during restricted hours and use alternative Noida-Greater Noida internal roads.

Authorities in all four cities have urged commuters to check official traffic police social media handles, plan journeys in advance, and follow diversion routes to avoid delays.
