In Instagram post, Shikhar Dhawan laments forced separation from son

While the dashing batsman is currently out of the reckoning for a spot in the national team in any format, it is his personal life that has dealt him a more bitter blow.
Dhawan has not been able to meet his son Zoravar for a year now. He and his (former) wife Ayesha Mukherjee are separated. He was granted divorce by a Delhi court this year on grounds of "cruelty" inflicted on him by his estranged wife.
Dhawan's life travails hit the headlines again on December 26 when he shared an emotional post on Instagram on his son's birthday. In the post, he wrote about not meeting his son for a year, and claimed that he has been blocked on all platforms where he could have connected with his son.
It is worth mentioning here that the court had granted mandatory visitation rights to Dhawan to meet his son.
"Even if I can't connect with you directly, I connect with you through Telepathy. I am so proud of you, and I know you're doing great and growing up nicely."
"Papa always misses you and loves you. He's always positive, waiting with a smile for the time when we will meet again by the Grace of God. Be naughty but not destructive, be a giver, be humble, compassionate, patient, and strong."
"Despite not seeing you, I write you messages almost every day, asking about your well-being and daily life, sharing what I'm doing and what's new in my life."
Papa"
