'I'm a sentimental fool': Shailesh Lodha talks on exit from Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah

Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest-running and most popular series on television. Over the last two years, several performers have left TMKOC - Gurucharan Singh, Neha Mehta, Disha Vakani. Shailesh Lodha, who played the main character of Taarak Mehta in the Sony SAB program before being replaced by Sachin Shroff, left earlier this year. Shailesh recently talked about exiting Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah in a YouTube interview.

Shailesh was again asked in the interview about his reasons for quitting the sitcom. He did not specify reasons, but did admit he was sentimentally attached to it.

"Indians are quite emotional. I call myself a sentimental fool. It's natural to get attached when you do something for 14 years," he said


The actor-poet went on to say that he is an impatient man. However, the show taught him patience. He said he would come out with the real reason some time in the future.

Dilip Joshi, Munmun Dutta, Amit Bhatt, and Sunayana Fozdar are among the current cast members of TMKOC. Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah, created by Asit Kumarr Modi and produced by Neela Film Productions Private Limited, just celebrated its 15th year with over 3,300 episodes.
