IIT student dies inside campus after jumping from sixth floor of a building; police say no suicide note found
Police received a PCR call at around 8:33 am at Kishangarh police station and rushed to the campus. Officers took the injured student to the IIT Delhi campus hospital, where doctors declared him dead, according to ANI .

What happened at IIT Delhi?
Police said the student entered IIT Delhi through the main gate at around 8 am. He then went to the Lecture Hall Complex and took a lift to the sixth floor.Investigators said he allegedly jumped from the front side of the building towards the Lecture Hall Complex. The Crime Team and Forensic Science Laboratory team also visited the spot and collected evidence.
Police said they have not found any apparent injury marks apart from those caused by the fall.
Police find no suicide note
Delhi Police said they have not found a suicide note so far."No suicide note has been found. A mobile phone was recovered from the pocket of the deceased and will be examined as per due procedure," police said.
Investigators recovered the student's phone and will examine it as part of the probe. Police are also collecting other information from IIT Delhi to establish what happened before the incident.
Police check counselling records
Police said they are obtaining counselling records and other relevant information from the institute.Investigators will examine those records along with the mobile phone and evidence collected at the spot. Police said they will verify the facts before taking further legal action.
PanIIT Alumni India chairman reacts
The incident also prompted a response from PanIIT Alumni India Chairman Prabhat Kumar, who expressed condolences to the student's family, friends, classmates, teachers and the wider IIT Delhi community."We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of a young student at IIT Delhi. Our heartfelt condolences are with the student's family, friends, classmates, teachers, and the entire IIT Delhi community during this difficult time," Kumar said.
Kumar urged students and young professionals facing academic, personal or other difficulties to reach out to people they trust.
"Every student and young professional should know that no academic setback, personal struggle, or difficult phase needs to be faced alone. Reaching out, speaking to someone you trust, and seeking support can make a difference," he said.
He also called on institutions and communities to work together so young people feel supported and heard.
"At this painful moment, PanIIT Alumni India stands in solidarity with the IIT Delhi community and extends its deepest sympathies to the bereaved family," Kumar added.
The police investigation continues as officers examine the student's phone, counselling records and other evidence to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.
