IIT JAM 2026 how to apply
- Visit jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
- Register on JOAPS with name, email, and mobile number (starting September 5, 2025).
- Log in using the generated Enrollment ID and password.
- Fill in personal, academic, and communication details.
- Choose test paper(s) and three exam cities in the same zone.
- Upload required documents.
- Pay the examination fee online.
IIT JAM 2026: Eligibility criteria
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and meet the criteria set by the participating institutions. There is no upper age limit for the exam. IIT JAM 2026 Exam
JAM is a national-level entrance examination for admission to MSc, Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD dual degree, and other postgraduate science programmes offered by the IITs and participating institutions. IIT Bombay is the organising institute for the 2026 exam.Along with the website launch, IIT Bombay has released the tentative schedule, session timings, and the list of exam city zones. The examination will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode on February 15, 2026.
IIT JAM 2026: Exam centres and zones
The exam will take place in cities grouped into eight zones, with each zone coordinated by an assigned IIT. Candidates must choose three preferred cities within the same zone. Major centres include Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kanpur, Chennai, and Guwahati.IIT JAM 2206: Application process
Candidates must apply through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS).
