A video allegedly shot inside a Chinese factory has gone viral on social media, showing workers manufacturing food processors under the popular Sujata brand name. The video sparked a wave of reactions online, with many questioning whether the Indian appliance maker had outsourced production to China.

The video was first shared by exporter Prakash Dadlani, who clarified that the products seen in the clip are counterfeit versions of Sujata appliances. He stated that the goods are not meant for the Indian market but are being shipped to other countries.

“If China is copying us, it means we did something right. The Sujata brand has set the benchmark. It is being copied shamelessly in Chinese factories. But they can only copy the brand — not the quality, trust, and strength built in Bharat,” Dadlani wrote in a post on X.

Responding to speculation that Sujata had subcontracted production overseas, Dadlani denied the claims. “This is a 30-year-old National/Panasonic juicer design that has been copied by hundreds of factories in China and exported mainly to the Gulf, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. Now it is being sold under the Sujata name in those markets. The same moulds exist in India, so it makes no sense for Sujata to outsource this model to China. Their own juicer design is far superior. Salute and respect to Sujata for making Bharat’s name shine worldwide. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Jai Hind,” he wrote.

Several users also commented on the controversy. One X user noted, “Chinese factories cater to markets in Nepal, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, where business houses often demand products with Indian brand names and logos.” Another user, who claimed to be a Sujata distributor, confirmed that the model shown in the viral video does not exist in India’s official product line.
