IBPS PO 2025: Check result date and the process after clearing the first round

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is expected to release the result of the Probationary Officer (PO)/Management Trainee preliminary examination 2025 in the coming days. Candidates who appeared for the examination will be able to log in with their credentials on the official website, ibps.in, to download their results.

The preliminary examination was conducted on August 17, 23, and 24, 2025. Candidates who qualify both the sectional and overall cut-offs will be eligible to appear for the mains examination, scheduled for October 12, 2025. The mains paper will consist of sections including Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, and Data Analysis and Interpretation.

Through this recruitment drive, IBPS aims to fill 5,208 vacancies in participating public sector banks. The prelims exam carried a total of 100 questions for a maximum of 60 marks, with a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer.

IBPS PO Recruitment 2025: CRP XV and selection process

Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainees (MT) are recruited annually through the Common Recruitment Process (CRP), commonly referred to as the IBPS PO exam. The CRP, which began in 2011, is being conducted for the 15th time this year and is officially titled IBPS PO/MT CRP XV 2025.

The IBPS PO selection process is carried out in three phases—Preliminary, Mains, and Interview. Candidates must qualify each phase to move on to the next. The steps in the recruitment process are as follows:

Online Preliminary Examination: An adequate number of candidates in each category are shortlisted for the mains exam, depending on the requirements.

Online Mains Examination: Candidates must secure both sectional and overall cut-offs to qualify for the interview round.

Interview: Conducted by participating banks and coordinated by a Nodal Bank in each State/UT with IBPS assistance.

Final Result: Declared based on the combined performance in the mains examination and interview.

Provisional Allotment: Qualified candidates are provisionally allotted to banks based on merit and preferences indicated during the application process. The allotment list is published on the official website.

IBPS’s role concludes with the provisional allotment. The responsibility for communicating joining dates and other formalities lies with the respective banks.
