‘I will think twice before doing a role’ Hrithik Roshan on Vikram Vedha’s failure

Hrithik Roshan recently opened his feelings on Vikram Vedha’s failure at box office. He said that the film lacked certain appeal and emotions that his fans adore about him. Hrithik described Vikram Vedha as an ‘intellectual picture’ and stated, "Vikram Vedha is a film that is cerebral. It's a movie that won't make you cry; it lacks the heart of a Super 30, the sex appeal of a War, and the song and dance of a Bang Bang. It is mental."

He further said, "Vikram Vedha did not do well at the box office. And the feedback I received was... Of course, I have mixed feelings about what I should take away from this and I don't believe it will hit me until much later, but for the moment I am aware that it's probably not something that others would like to see me do."

Hrithik added that his followers only wanted to see him in leading roles "Maybe I'm not allowed to play roles that don't appeal to my fans, with a specific backdrop, and in a specific way. If I choose to do those kinds of films, I must approach them differently than I do myself – economically, budget-wise, and cost-wise."


‘Vikram Vedha’ was one of the most anticipated movies of 2022. It is a remake of Tamil movie starrer Madhavan and Vijay Sethupati. The Tamil movie bagged praise from critics and did well at box office. Although the Hindi version directed by Pushkar-Gayathri received positive reviews from critics, it failed to show its magic at box office. It earned only Rs. 84 crore against the making budget of above Rs 100 crore.
