'I Have Electric Dreams' wins IFFI's Golden Peacock award
The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) awards were revealed on Monday during the ending ceremony. The Golden Peacock award went to the Spanish coming-of-age movie I Have Electric Dreams, while top acting honors went to Daniela Marin Navarro and Vahid Mobasheri.

  • Special Mention for a Director's Debut Feature Film - Praveen Kandregula's Cinema Bandi
  • Payam Eskandar's Nargesi receives the ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal.
  • Chiranjeevi is the Indian Film Personality of the Year.

The International Film Festival of India, established in 1952, is one of Asia's most important film festivals.

Where can I locate IFFI in Goa?
The Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium is located near Panaji. IFFI, one of Asia's oldest film festivals, began with the presentation of Alma and Oskar by Austrian director Dieter Berner. Spanish film director Carlos Saura received the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award during the inaugural event.
