‘I don’t like to fight, but if I have to...’: Shark Tank’s Anupam Mittal says Big Tech ‘do more evil’

In a post, Mittal said the court last week ruled against domain squatters misusing the Shaadi name.
“Not imitators. Not competitors. Straight-up lookalikes designed to confuse users and siphon trust,” he wrote.
“I don’t like to fight, but if I have to, I go all in,” Mittal said, adding that the judgment recognised Shaadi.com as a “well-known trademark” under Indian law and awarded costs of Rs 25 lakh along with interest.
Taking aim at domain squatters, Mittal said brands are not built on logos alone. “They’re built on decades of spend, consistency, customer faith, and restraint. Yet squatters show up late, copy the recall, and free-ride,” he wrote.
Mittal also criticised Big Tech companies for, according to him, normalising such practices. “Globally, Big Tech has monetized brand keywords and disintermediated the very companies that built demand in the first place. They do more evil,” he said.
