In a post on X, Thapar addressed the trolling over her past videos on religious topics, including remarks on the health benefits of namaz and discussions around Hindu beliefs.
“I left for Bombay at 6:30 am, like the hard-working professional that I am, and stopped the car at 7 am to make this reel, as I’ve long realised that silence is not a virtue and one must speak up when disrespected,” she said.
“ If something wrong happens at any workplace that goes against basic human rights, all of us should speak up,” she added.
She emphasised that silence is no longer an option when individuals feel disrespected, urging “proud Indians” to speak up in defence of basic human rights, humanity and patriotism.
Lenskart Controversy: Religious Symbols Policy Sparks Outrage
Meanwhile, Lenskart faced significant backlash after a purported internal grooming policy restricting religious symbols went viral. The controversy triggered widespread criticism, particularly over alleged limitations on wearing items such as bindis and tilaks.Founder Peyush Bansal clarified that the document was outdated and did not reflect the company’s current policies. In response, Lenskart issued a public apology and introduced a revised inclusive workplace policy on religious symbols, explicitly allowing expressions of faith such as hijabs, turbans, kadas and mangalsutras.
The company reiterated its commitment to inclusivity, stating that its identity as a homegrown Indian brand embraces cultural and religious diversity across its workforce.
TCS Nashik Case: Allegations of Harassment and Forced Conversion
In a separate development, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is under scrutiny following serious allegations at its Nashik unit. Authorities have arrested multiple individuals after complaints of harassment, attempted forced religious conversion, and misconduct surfaced.A Special Investigation Team formed by Nashik police is probing the matter, while one accused has sought anticipatory bail. The case has drawn attention to concerns around workplace safety, employee rights and corporate accountability in India’s IT sector.
TCS has reiterated its long-standing zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and stated that employees allegedly involved have been suspended pending investigation. The company has also initiated an internal probe with external oversight to ensure transparency.
