David Warner, Australia's opening batsman, has lashed out at Cricket Australia (CA) over his lifetime ban from captaincy or leadership roles. The explosive opener wants to file a review application under the new code of conduct amendments regarding leadership roles.

Warner was banned from cricket for a year and from leadership roles in the Newlands ball-tampering scandal in 2018.

The former test vice captain now wants to apply for a review over his ban after Cricket Australia approved changes to its integrity code that allow cricketers to plead against their long-term bans.

Warner showed his disappointment, saying that the whole process had been very traumatic for him. He complained that CA made the ban decision in just four days in 2018, and now it is taking nine months to set up the process.

On the other hand, Cricket Australia has said that the changes allow players and support staff with long-term sanctions to apply for review in front of a three-person review panel.

Warner has openly expressed his desire to lead the team and has received warm support from former players and prominent cricket pundits.
