As the festival of Holi approaches, the Hyderabad police have taken proactive measures to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for all.

With the festivities set to take place on March 14, authorities are keen on minimizing potential disruptions and maintaining public order during this joyous occasion.

The Hyderabad police had issued two orders, banning certain movement and also said that violation of guidelines will lead to prosecution. Further, the police have also declared that all liquor outlets in the city will remain closed on account of Holi.


Hyderabad Holi advisory: What the police has prohibited

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty has issued a stern warning to citizens regarding the behavior during the Holi celebrations, the local media has reported.

The advisory prohibits throwing colors or water on strangers, as well as reckless movement of vehicles that may cause inconvenience to others. The police, in its notification issued on March 11 and 12 banned movement of two-wheelers and vehicles in group, and also warned against creating annoyance or danger to the public.

This directive will be enforced from 6 am on March 14 to 6 am on March 15. Another notification from March 11 placed these restriction from March 13 to March 15.

Hyderabad liquor shops to remain closed: Check Timings

In a recent announcement, Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu declared that all liquor outlets will remain closed on Holi day.

The closure will be effective from 6 am to 6 pm on March 14, in bid to prevent any alcohol-related incidents that could mar the spirit of the festival.

The order specifies that wine shops, toddy shops, and bars associated with restaurants will be closed.

However, establishments linked to star hotels and registered clubs will remain operational from 4 PM onwards, as per Deccan Chronicle.
