Hurun List 2025: From Azim Premji to Joy Alukkas, Indians add up to 45% wealth in one year

Niraj Bajaj & family, heading the Bajaj Group, topped the list of biggest gainers (y-o-y), adding Rs 69,875 crore to reach Rs 2.33 lakh crore, according to the 14th edition of the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025. The family's wealth jumped by nearly 43%, taking the family to the sixth richest position in India.

Wipro's Azim Premji and family recorded a 16% rise in wealth to Rs 2,21,250 lakh crore, climbing to the eighth position. The Bengaluru-based family is the fourth biggest gainer y-o-y.

Among the biggest gainers, the second position is secured by Jay Chaudhry of Zscalar, increasing wealth by Rs 57,867 crore to Rs 1.46 lakh crore. Indian jeweller Joy Alukkas saw a gain of Rs 46,491 crore, reaching Rs 88,430 lakh crore, the third biggest gainer among India's richest people.

Vikram Lal & family of Eicher Motors added Rs 27,325 crore, taking their wealth past Rs 1.04 lakh crore.

Over the last five years, Kalyan Jewellers owner TS Kalyanaraman & family reported a 553% rise in wealth, while Haldiram Foods owner Shivkishan Moolchand Agarwal & family recorded a 739% growth in wealth.

The largest gainer in this category is Jagadish Prasad Aluru & family of HBL Power Systems, who recorded a remarkable 1,374% rise, reflecting the strong momentum in the industrial products industry.

India's fastest wealth creators

Satish Kumar Gupta & family of Jakson lead the group of fastest wealth creators of India with a 241% jump, taking their wealth to Rs 13,320 crore.

Another notable names in the list were Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari of Physics Wallah who saw their wealth surge 223% each, reaching Rs 14,520 crore, as the edtech major continues its strong growth trajectory from Allahabad and Ajmer, respectively.

Followed by the Physics Wallah creators, Nirmal Kumar Bathwal of Penguin Trading & Agencies recorded a 213% increase, with his wealth rising to Rs 7,120 crore.
