Popular ridesharing platform Uber rolled out the “WhatsApp chatbot” in August 2022 to ease the cab-booking experience for customers. With the partnership with WhatsApp, Uber upgraded its service portfolio and expanded its customer base in the ride-hailing industry. Currently, the service is available to residents of Delhi-NCR and Lucknow. Using this first-of-its-kind feature, customers can book a Uber ride by messaging on a mobile number.

As part of this new feature, customers can book a ride directly via the WhatsApp chatbot without downloading the Uber app. They can complete user registration, manage rides, and receive the ride’s receipt on the messaging app at their convenience. It is a one-stop option for Delhi/NCR and Lucknow recipients who frequently use Uber for traveling.

The feature is available only to customers who have duly registered their contact numbers on WhatsApp. In the case of an emergency, customers must follow the instructions provided by Uber in the WhatsApp chat box. Users are connected to customer support quickly by the company. The safety features are accessible after 30 minutes of the end of the trip.
