Dust and cobwebs often collect in wall corners, especially where walls meet the ceiling or floor. Instead of repainting the entire area, a few simple cleaning methods can help remove loose dust, marks and buildup without damaging the paint.

Start with a soft duster

Use a microfiber duster, soft cloth or a clean feather duster to remove loose dust from the corners. Move gently from top to bottom so the dust does not spread across the rest of the wall.

For high corners, attach a microfiber cloth to a long-handled mop or duster and carefully wipe the area.

Try a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment

A vacuum cleaner can be useful for removing accumulated dust and cobwebs from difficult-to-reach corners. Use a soft brush attachment and keep the suction at a moderate setting. Avoid pressing the nozzle directly against the painted surface, as this could leave marks or scratches.

Use a slightly damp microfiber cloth

For dust that has stuck to the wall, lightly dampen a microfiber cloth with water and wring it out well. The cloth should be damp rather than wet. Gently wipe the affected area in small movements and allow the wall to dry naturally.

Make a mild soap solution

Because baking soda can be mildly abrasive, test it first on a small, less noticeable section of the wall to make sure it does not affect the paint finish.

Remove cobwebs before wiping the wall

If the corners have cobwebs, remove them first with a soft duster or vacuum brush. Trying to wipe cobwebs with a wet cloth can spread them around and make the area messier. Work from the upper corners downwards and clean the floor afterwards.
