How serving a rotten dalmoth landed a UP court staffer in hot soup
An Uttar Pradesh court staffer faces disciplinary action after serving a district judge stale 'dalmoth' despite the availability of fresh biscuits. The judge issued a show-cause notice, highlighting the staffer's disobedience and the serving of in...

The staffer was instructed by the judge to bring biscuits along with tea for the judge and her colleague who were sitting in the latter's chambers during lunch break.
The staffer first turned up with only two cups of tea even though the judge had asked for biscuits. He returned with dalmoth which was emitting a foul smell and a bad taste.
At this point the judge got infuriated and served him with a showcause memo and put him on notice for his actions.
The memo mentions how the staffer first disobeyed the instructions and then served a snack (dalmoth) that was unfit for consumption. It also mentions that there were two unopened packets of biscuit in the cupboard and yet she was served the rotten dalmoth.
According to the memo, the staffer was supposed to present an explanation the following day on May 31, 10:30 am. The staffer had been asked to explain his reasons why he deliberately served the snack when it was clear that it was unfit for consumption and should have been disposed of immediately.
This incident took place on May 30, since then the memo has gone viral on social media.
Allegedly, a hand written response by the staffer is being circulated on social media. The letter can’t be verified as the staffer is not responding to calls and messages sent by TOI.
