House of Dragon is available for free on YouTube!

HBO's 'House of the Dragon' is smashing all OTT records these days. According to HBO, the 'Game of Thrones' prequel series drew the largest audience in the pay TV channel's history. Now, in a marketing move, HBO has made the first episode of the series free to view on YouTube! The move comes as Amazon has released the much-anticipated Rings of Power series - the prequel of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

However, there is one condition. The video comes with a region lock. This means it can only be viewed in a few countries and sadly India is not part of that.

In India, the show is being streamed on Disney+Hotstar. Already, three episodes of the series have been released.

According to HBO, the first episode has now been seen by over 20 million viewers across linear, on-demand and HBO Max platforms in the US. The first episode premiered on August 21.

"House of the Dragon" is based on George R R Martin's book "Fire & Blood", a history of House Targaryen set 200 years before the events described in "Game of Thrones", which ended its eight-season run in 2019. The series will showcase how different kings of the Targaryen House ruled the seven kingdoms from the Iron Throne.

"House of the Dragon" features an ensemble cast of Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans.

Ryan Condal is attached as the showrunner and executive producer on the show along with Miguel Sapochnik, who helmed "Game of Thrones" episodes such as 'The Battle of Bastards' and 'The Winds of Winter'.

Condal and Martin are credited as co-creators and executive producers.
