Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the film for displaying the state's culture and customs while speaking at a rally in Karnataka.

Kantara became a huge commercial success in 2022, establishing Rishab Shetty as a pan-India celebrity.

Kantara, one of 2022's biggest successes, continues to win hearts and create headlines months after its first theatrical release on September 30. Amit Shah stated during a BJP event in Karnataka that after seeing the video, he learned about the state's rich customs and culture.

The Home Minister claimed to have just seen Kantara. After watching the film, he realised that Karnataka had such “rich traditions”. Despite the adverse weather conditions, there are relatively few regions in the country where people make the country affluent through farming.

The film earned overwhelmingly positive reviews, with critics complimenting the terrifying finale and stellar performances. Kantara is back in the spotlight, but for a different cause.
