Here's why Ekta Kapoor has changed Dream Girl 2 release date

Ayushman Khurrana's Dream Girl 2 has a new release date, and it seems like it will hit the theatres much sooner than expected. That is because Ekta Kapoor has shifted the dates of her upcoming movie.

The new movie, with Ayushmann Khurrana and actress Ananya Pandey in the lead roles, has a new release date now.

According to reports, Ekta Kapoor has preponed the release date of the sequel movie so that it would not clash with the upcoming Sajid Nadiadwala film.


The sequel movie was initially supposed to come out in theatres on June 29, 2023.

Recently, a teaser was released announcing the next part of the Bollywood movie Dream Girl.

Reportedly, after Ekta Kapoor found out that Nadiadwala's Satya Prem ki Katha was also coming out on the same date, she decided to shift the release of her next film.

Apart from Ayushmann Khurrana, Dream Girl 2 also stars Ananya Panday, Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Joshi, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa and Rajpal Yadav.

Talking about the second installment, Ayushmann said in a statement, "I am super stoked about `Dream Girl 2!` This is my second outing with Balaji Motion Pictures and I am thankful to Ektaa that she has carried this franchise forward and made it bigger. I have found a friend in Raaj and it's exciting to team up with him again. Ananya Panday has been paired with me and I am looking forward to seeing the audience's reaction to our chemistry."

Dream Girl was a 2019 hit and starred Nushrratt Bharuccha with Ayushmann. In the film, Ayushmann played a hotline caller who would change his voice into a girl's voice.
