North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived in Russia on Tuesday for his first international visit in almost four years.

In the midst of mounting excitement, Kim's travel to Russia comes with a note of caution from the US, recommending careful assessment of any prospective arms agreement between the two countries.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov shared insights into the visit, stating, "It will be a full-fledged visit. There will be negotiations between two delegations, and after that, if necessary, the leaders will continue their communication in a one-on-one format."

According to North Korean state media, Kim left Pyongyang on his private train for Russia, escorted by senior officials from the armaments industry, the military, and the foreign minister.

Here's a glimpse into the distinctive trains frequently used by the Kim dynasty:

North Korea boasts a fleet of opulent trains, complete with reception halls, conference rooms, and state-of-the-art communication facilities.

Onboard, the train is stocked with crates of expensive French wine, offering passengers the opportunity to savor fresh lobster and pork barbecue.

However, the most critical aspect of these trains is their security.

To safeguard against potential threats, the North Korean leader's train travels in tandem with two other trains. One train precedes the main one carrying the leader to ensure the safety of the railway tracks, while another carries security agents and follows closely behind.

Cutting-edge communication gear and flat-screen TVs are installed on board, enabling the leader to issue commands and receive briefings seamlessly.

Despite its imposing armor and weight, Kim's special train maintains a speed of approximately 60 kilometers per hour.

These trains hold immense symbolic significance, with a life-sized replica of one of the carriages permanently displayed at a mausoleum on the outskirts of Pyongyang. It's at this site where the embalmed remains of Kim Jong Il and his father, Kim Il Sung, are enshrined.

Kim Jong Un, at the age of 39, has employed his family's armored train for past meetings with other world leaders, including Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and former US President Donald Trump in 2018 and 2019.

Interestingly, unlike his father, Kim occasionally opts for air travel. His time spent studying in Switzerland during his teenage years suggests a familiarity with air travel, a mode of transportation that contrasts with the iconic armored trains used by his family.
