Hera Pheri 3: Kartik Aaryan got the role after Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan refused it

Kartik Aaryan has bagged another role in a sequel that belonged to superstar Akshay Kumar. After the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Aryan will now be seen in Hera Pheri 3, the sequel to the superhit Hera Pheri franchise starring Akshay Kumar in the lead.

As per reports, the role was also offered to Varun Dhawan, but he also refused it. When Dhawan refused the offer, the role was offered to Kartik.

Akshay Kumar was the original choice for the third part of Hera Pheri, but he reportedly refused the role, apparently due to differences with producer Firoz Nadiadwala. Varun Dhawan was later offered the same role, but he also refused. Reportedly, Varun refused the role as he didn't want to seek benefit from Kumar’s rift with Nadiadwala. Subsequently, the role was offered to Aaryan, who accepted it. Actor Paresh Rawal also confirmed that Aaryan would be a part of the upcoming movie.


Clarifying more about Hera Pheri 3, Suniel Shetty, another lead actor in the film, stated that Kartik Aaryan was not reprising Akshay Kumar’s iconic character of Raju. Instead, Aaryan has an entirely new character in the movie.

Besides hear Pheri, Kartik Aaryan is also playing a lead role in the upcoming movies Aashiqui 3 and Satyaprem Ki Katha.

On the other hand, Varun Dhawan is playing the lead in the upcoming movie Bawaal. His latest film Bhediya released in the theatre last week.
